Why reviews matter so much in aesthetics
Choosing someone to inject your face is a trust decision. Before a new patient sends an enquiry, they usually check what other people say about you, and Google reviews are often the first thing they see when they search your clinic or "aesthetics near me".
Recent, detailed reviews also help your clinic show up in local search. The good news is that most happy clients are glad to leave one. They just need to be asked at the right moment, in the right way.
When and how to ask
Pick the right moment. For treatments with a settling period, like anti-wrinkle injections or filler, the best time is at the review appointment or when the client messages to say how happy they are. For skin treatments with an instant glow, asking as they leave works well.
Make it one tap. In your Google Business Profile, choose "Ask for reviews" to get your short review link. Save it as a quick reply on WhatsApp and Instagram, and add it to your aftercare email.
Ask personally. A message from the practitioner works far better than an automated request.
Hi [name], I'm so glad you're happy with your results! If you have a minute, a quick Google review would really help other people find us. Here's the link: [link]. Thank you so much x
Make it routine. Add the ask to your aftercare process so it happens with every happy client, not just when you remember.
Replying to reviews, and the rules to stay within
Reply to every review. A short, warm thank-you shows new patients you care. Never confirm treatment details or mention that someone is a patient beyond what they've said themselves, because of patient confidentiality.
Handle negative reviews calmly. Thank them, apologise that they're unhappy, and invite them to contact the clinic directly to talk it through. Keep clinical discussion out of public view.
Don't offer incentives. Google's policies don't allow discounts or freebies in exchange for reviews, and you shouldn't only ask clients you expect to be happy.
Never write or buy reviews. Fake reviews breach Google's policies and UK consumer protection law.
Reviews bring new enquiries, so make sure those enquiries get a fast, friendly reply. Aesthetix Intelligence offers UK clinics a free missed-enquiry audit to see how quickly new patients hear back.
